  This article summarizes the Firefox   Options   panels and what types of settings they contain. Click the menu button   and select  Options . Firefox automatically checks the spelling of words that you enter in text boxes containing more than one line. As soon as you finish typing a word, it is checked against the words in the installed dictionary. If the word is not found in the dictionary, it will be underlined in red, as in the following example:  Mozilla Firefox Help Disabling automatic spell-checking By default, Firefox is configured to automatically check spelling. Troubleshoot Mode  is a special Firefox mode that can be used to diagnose and fix problems. When you start Firefox in  Troubleshoot Mode , it temporarily disables add-ons (extensions and themes), turns off hardware acceleration and certain other features, and ignores some customizations ( see below  to learn more).
